Keep walking. Its the best exercise for young fellows like us. I enjoy exploring where there is a trail that is not too vertical these days.

Port Barton, Palawan. Crystal waters, good corals, enough amenities for a comfortable stay but without mass tourism.

When living in The Philippines, you might get really tired, of the crowded and noisy places and will be looking for some more relaxed and peaceful surroundings.
But when you are on a holiday, things might be different.

Here are some of the more action packed things to do, when visiting Cagayan de Oro.

Laser Blast

In case you’re not familiar with the game, it’s pretty similar with airsoft except that players wear a vest and a hold a phaser which is a hand-held infrared-emitting targeting device.

In Subic there are two places I loved:

Ocean Adventure Park- Very simular to Sea World in the U.S. The highlight for me was being able to swim with two pilot whales and a dolphin. One pilot whale dragged me out to a raft where it had me have it do tricks with hand signals.

Tiger Park- (not sure of the exact name). This is a zoo with many animals beside tigers. To see the tigers in their uncared natural habitat you ride on a caged in tram. I also got to hold and feed a rather large tiger cub milk from a bottle.

The last time in Subic I stayed on the beach near the strip. There is a castle like structure off shore on an island. Anyone have info on that?

Probably referring to this one. Used to go out there in the 80's a lot. We knew the owner and used to fish and party there. Sometimes spent the night with the owner and friends.

Not much of an island, so a bit difficult to spot on Google Earth.

There are a lot of Waterfalls all over the Philippines. I'm working on a list of Falls in Northern Mindanao which will include Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Northern Bukidnon and Camiguin.

If you know about Waterfalls in proximity of "The Golden Route", have pictures or GPS coordinates of some..

..let us know about them  . attention_waterfall___achtung_wasserfall

It fits well in my plan of expanding The Golden Route to include Negros (+Siquijor), Camotes Island and Leyte (+Siargao)

Tour Visayas and Northern Mindanao without flying :)   The Golden Route
