Major Nurhusin Hadjaruddin, commanding officer of the 52nd Engineer Brigade, died after he was shot by Corporal Julhaim Indanan in his residence in Barangay (village) Bubus in Jolo, Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Major Filemon Tan said. Hadjaruddin was taken to the Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista for medical attention but was pronounced dead at 9:48 a.m. “Investigations are ongoing to establish the motive for the shooting incident,” Tan said.
