After seeing the fitness levels of many police here, scampering is all you would need to do to elude themWhy waste needless energy running   Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk

I just wonder how the hell you could build something like that without the whole area knowing....here you cant put up a sari sari without the entire place knowing whats carried and who owns it...

I love Filipino journalism.

Excuse my ignorance, is ethanol part of the recipe for shabu?

Crystal Meth Ingredients
Crystal Meth ingredients are typically legal and useful items in their own right. But when mixed together and processed incorrectly, the results are deadly to the "Crystal Meth cook", user, and innocent bystanders. Chemical ingredients and equipment used to "cook" Crystal Meth in illegal makeshift labs create an immediate danger of explosion and fire. This process also leaves behind waste that contaminates the site; often a house, apartment, or other dwelling. Crystal Meth labs and their ingredients pose a threat both to the environment and the health of future occupants.
Methamphetamine is closely related to amphetamine but has longer lasting and more toxic effects on the user's system. Crystal Meth is a white, odorless powder that dissolves easily in water or alcohol. Production of the drug begins with common chemicals, including EPHEDRINE or PSEUDOEPHEDRINE. By 2004, more and more Americans were expressing their concern over the ease with which these Crystal Meth ingredients could be purchased. Ephedrine-containing pills and powders were banned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2004. However, as of mid-2005, illicit supplies were still available through the Internet. Pseudoephedrine is a key ingredient in cold medicines and asthma drugs.
Crystal Meth is relatively easy to produce in homemade laboratories. Various newspaper accounts note that Crystal Meth cooks routinely brew small batches of the drug in their home labs using household goods that they purchased legally in stores. Many use recipes they find on the Internet posted by amateur chemists. As such, the strength and toxicity of each batch can vary considerably depending on what Crystal Meth ingredients were used.

Common Crystal Meth Ingredients:

Excuse my ignorance, is ethanol part of the recipe for shabu?

Synthesis is relatively simple, but entails risk with flammable and corrosive chemicals, particularly the solvents used in extraction and purification; therefore.

Most of the necessary chemicals are readily available in household products or OTC (Over the counter) cold or allergy medicines. When illicitly produced, methamphetamine is commonly made by the reduction of ephedrine or pseudoephedrine. The maximum conversion rate for ephedrine and pseudoephedrine is 92%, although typically, illicit methamphetamine laboratories convert at a rate of 50% to 75%.

There are 3 methods of making meth is often used by the meth factory / industry, here is the review :

1. Most used methods is production that involve protonation of the hydroxyl group on the ephedrine or pseudoephedrine molecule. Structurally, methamphetamine is most similar to methcathinone and amphetamine. The most common method for small-scale methamphetamine labs in the United States, Indonesia and Mexico is primarily called the "Red, White, and Blue Process".

Red = red phosphorus,

White = ephedrine or pseudoephedrine (white),

Purple = iodine (in elemental form), from which hydroiodic acid is formed.

MANUFACTURING+AND+MATERIALS+TO+MAKE+SHAB2. Another common method is the Birch reduction (Nagai method),using metallic lithium, commonly extracted from non-rechargeable lithium batteries. Birch reduction is dangerous because the alkali metal and liquid anhydrous ammonia are both extremely reactive, and the temperature of liquid ammonia makes it susceptible to explosive boiling when reactants are added.

3. The last common method is synthesis using the reductive amination of phenylacetone with methylamine, both of which are currently DEA list I chemicals (as are pseudoephedrine and ephedrine). The reaction requires a catalyst that acts as a reducing agent, such as mercury aluminum amalgam or platinum dioxide.

Methamphetamine labs can give off noxious fumes, such phosphine gas, methylamine gas, solvent vapors, acetone or chloroform, iodine vapors, white phosphorus, anhydrous ammonia, hydrogen chloride/muriatic acid, hydrogen iodide, lithium/sodium metal, ether, or methamphetamine vapors. If performed by amateurs, manufacturing methamphetamine can be extremely dangerous. If the red phosphorus overheats, because of a lack of ventilation, phosphine gas can be produced. This gas is highly toxic and, if present in large quantities, is likely to explode upon autoignition from diphosphine, which is formed by overheating phosphorus.

The image of the clandestine lab shows it arranged in an open tin shed. Not sure how the operators would consider it to be hidden from view.

Wish people would at least quote enough from an article to provide some basis for discussion ...

Suspected shabu lab operators identified

... two Chinese nationals who are suspected to be part of the operation of the shabu laboratory discovered here on Thursday at the foot of Mt. Arayat.

According to Alejandrino, some documents were found inside the three vehicles left at the piggery-corn crasher factory cum laboratory, including the official receipt and certificate of registration of a Toyota Corolla Altis purchased cash at the Toyota Abad Santos that is registered to a certain Anthony Reyes Cua.

A driver's license was also found inside one of the two Honda Civic cars also left in the area. The license carries the name of a certain Jacky Lee Shi, said the mayor.

Wonder if the authorities will catch up with Anthony Reyes Cua & Jacky Lee Shi before they suffer lead-induced dislocations of cranial matter?  More people & heavier vehicles had to be involved.  You can't haul equipment like that in a Corolla & a Civic.  By printing their names, they are seriously reducing the chances of actually interviewing them and working their way up the chain.

I believe one of the articles mentioned a 10' concrete wall.  Perhaps someone tipped them off.

Also the imagery in Google Earth can often be fairly recent, just depends on where the satellites been lately.  In the U.S. the imagery is often used by local inspection & tax authorities to spot structures built/expanded without permits & inspections.
