July 1st - Metro Cebu. Most images are near Ayala. But not to fear, this only happens when it rains a bit hard..   :)

Now, they couldn't let the lack of preparing storm proper storm drains get in the way of construction projects, could they?

Nooo... absolutely not.. there's nothing to worry about when it's not raining.. :unknw:  What really makes me wonder is that after a very extensive drainage rehab project along the low area of A.S. Fortuna (near Rolling Hills), the flooding yesterday seemed worse than ever.

Sounds like to me, someone here just doesn't appreciate growth, expansion, and moving forward in Cebu. Put on your smiley face, wade through the water, and move along now.

Indeed. No city water during the dry season. Too much water during the rainy season..

Other pics. The last one is people waiting for public transportation in Ayala.

When I first moved to the Philippines, I regretted not taking my Jeep. It had both a snorkel and exhaust extensions, as well as breather tubes for the differentials, oil, etc. Never saw a rain in Cebu that it couldn't handle. Would have been loads of fun, for sure.

wow..  sounds like I got out of the city just in time yesterday.  Passed Ayala close to 10am, and ran couple hardware errands on the highway close to SM city, then hypermart, then McD at Consolacion around 1pm-ish before heading north.  Must have been just ahead of it..  and didn't get a drop.

Just think about it as ... In Germany and other civilized countries yesterdays flooding would now be in the news and talkshows for weeks - here we are already back to normal since yesterday afternoon...
