Bicols resorts?

Recommended Posts

goggleye

Looks like we will be in the Bicols in later June and July .  Looking for some recommendations on resorts   - Like a reasonably priced resort  on the ocean with a picnic area where we can cook outside  -  She really enjoys cooking outside on the little butane stove buying food at a close by market.   Any good places come to mind? We both enjoy simple and clean and rustic is fine.  Thanks ahead of time.

What part? Bicol pretty big area.

My wife is from there she suggest:

Rizal Beach Sorsogon.

Caramoan Penisnsula

Bagasbas Beach

The volcano near Legazpi is way over rated

As you're already living on the Ocean, I would have thought you would head for the mountains... :biggrin_01:

Hello, where is your starting point and how much time you have.  Reason why I'm asking, if your driving (mostly two way lanes) I always find driving is time consuming, so maybe research on the net and choose specific City to Explore fully in the amount of time you will be there to see more i.e CAMARINES SUR, LEGASPI CITY, SORSOGON CITY.... In Bicol, there's lots of OFF beaten path but I would not recommend venturing out on them less your escorted by the very people that live in that area and sort of "sponsored" by them.  Thanks to social media, Bicol has as much exposure when it comes to beautiful beaches. Google them and you'll find lodging, how to get there info and pictures/reviews. The lodging accommodation are very basic (there are very few  that I will considered US standard and they are very expensive $250 and up a night)

I think she "captured in details" her trip well and it's a "recent" trips that might help your travel:

...If you ever need help when you end up in Sorsogon City or you have any question,  pm me... my family will be happy to show you around. Just like the saying"Mi Casa Es Su Casa".

Hey thanks so much  - I will be in the area 6 weeks  So I have some time to move around and try out some different places  - wouldnt mind renting an apartment if there was one available for a shorter time  - homestays can be nice too - maybe someone would know if one is near there somewhere

I lived in Camarines sur when I was young and broke..One of the most amazing trips I did was from San Jose to Catanduanes on some type of old cheap shit cargo boat.. I think I must have been looking at the Camamoan islands on the way, which to me looked stunning at the time..

One day Im going back.

Camarines Sur really changed a lot and got popular, specially with the cable wake boarding. Then, the Survivor Show was filmed in Caramoan. Gota Village is not bad at all (Philippine hotel standard). Definitely will be worth exploring.
