Parking Lot Scam

Recommended Posts

Humboldt

Yesterday we made a trip to the mall in Carcar  backing out of my parking spot

carefully as I always do , my vehicle has a backing warning sound gets a lot of attention

I'm viewing a motorcycle clearly in my side mirror parked parallel against a long planter box

I was wide of the motorcycle about 1 foot ,,, short of the planter box 3 ft

as I'm driving out at the other end of parking lot parking boy #2 holds his hands up in front of me to stop, he's yelling at parking lot boy #1 who said I hit the motorcycle.

I knew it was B.S as I was focusing on said M/C ,, but for shits and giggles

I said but the M/C is still standing . he said I pushed the M/C back and broke the planter box behind it. At his point Wife said its a scam step on it lets get out of here... Their just looking for some lunch money ...

You did the right thing and next time get their photos and a picture of the parking lot and post it on social media.

That why I try to reverse into a space if there is room. Some years back a guy hit a friends car with his fist and lay on the ground behind it claiming she had hit him.

OP - when you post personal experiences like this you are doing a good deed to everyone who uses that "mall". I've been going there for about 5 years, although not as much since the SavMore and Gaisano Metro have opened. It is one of the worst shopping experiences I have ever had, I really hate it - especially the 2nd fl dept store. There's a young guy in Franzy's that cuts hair ok, that's about the last reason I go in there. I'm well aware of the aggressive chicharon salespeople in that lot but I'm always watching out for crap like this. Appreciate you taking the time to share it.

So you have forward looking and reverse looking cams? Sounds like a good idea here, actually everywhere. Edited by hitman

Sounds interesting.  Sorry I don't read or remember every post that you have ever made but if you supply a link back I would be interested in taking a look.

Haven't had any trouble at Gaisano, CarCar. Maybe cause my wife drives. The boys that "help" with parking  are everywhere in the Ph. The chicharon sellers are everywhere in CarCar. Somethings you just have to accept if you are going to live here. I look at it this way, here you can say no to them. where I come from, US of A you can't say no because they sit at home in front of their 65" TV sucking on a beer that they bought with food stamps. and the U.'S. govt send them your money. knowhatimean?

Substitute US for OZ and you have exactly the same scenario :idontknow:
