NAIA Hotel - what's convenient, affordable?

Recommended Posts

Thalcoozyo

Am looking ahead for a mid-range hotel convenient to the Manila airport. Have looked in the various places here in the forums, but am not seeing anything recent. Or maybe I overlooked it.

Wife and grown son, son's gf, and a kid are all arriving at 8pm at INTERNATIONAL terminal. (I arrive a couple days later, so they are on their own this time.)

They have a flight out the next morn at 10-ish to Tacloban (DOMESTIC, CEBU PACIFIC). So all they need is a safe, relatively clean, hotel with hot/cold, THAT IS CONVENIENT TO THE AIRPORT. In my dreams, "convenient" is defined as less than 10 mins away, and provides a shuttle pickup/drop off.

If in the States, we'd be looking for Comfort Suites or something like that... not the Marriot or Hilton.

Suggestions?  Name and/or website?  Isn't there a hotel right there at the airport?... anyone know about it?

Thanks!

With four terminals that are spread out around the airport, there is no hotel that is truly convenient to all. Because of all of the construction around the airport, you need to at least double all advertised travel times. There are, however, hotels that are convenient to individual terminals. If you know which terminal(s) you will be flying in and out of, you can get better information.

If you're searching on hotels near NIAI I doubt you'll find much.  It's NAIA and I fixed the title for you.

Manila Airport Hotel is located near KFC at terminal 1. I have stayed there several times. Several food places adjacent, one offers free breakfast to guest. U can see term 1 from the hotel. plenty of white taxi's, and hotel has a free shuttle.

Seems like I'm seeing the Oyster Plaza mentioned in several snippets of forums.  Their website indicates an affordable price ($35-40-ish USD), with about a 15-20 mins. free shuttle ride. The Manila Airport hotel website shows $100 USD is pretty much their baseline rate, and it goes up from there. Sorta pricey. But I like your ideas... keep 'em coming. Thanks!

The neighborhood is not much.. but its near the airport and they offer a hotel service to the Airport  etc.

Also there is really good lil resto carrienda next to the place.. that serves good sizzling dishes and soups..  it looks like your regular pinoy food stall...but its really good. the cook has Hotel chef experience.   the sizzling tofu and gambas are my favorites..your wife (if she is pinoy will love it) new

rooms about 1200--  staff are helpful -- Aircon is  new and cold.   This place not to be confused with Stonhouse Ermita or Stonehouse QC.

I stayed at AsiaBill's place and it was more Crap than Shoot.   Cannot recommend.  Caveat that was 6 plus years ago.. who knows..perhaps Asia Bill and Lorna have splruged and renovated the place since then.

I agree and would recommend this hotel. Its close and fairly new. There is a 7-11 on the corner and of course Resorts World right next door.

I have to vote for the Remmington Hotel as well. It's a bit expensive (I've paid between 75 USD all the way to 105 USD) but it has a great location and great shuttle service. There is a really nice Vegas style casino next door with some good restaurants.  There was also a McDonalds, a Shakey's Pizza and a Kenny Roger's Roasters across the parking lot. (The parking lot was under construction my last two visits making walking there a little less convenient)

8pm at INTERNATIONAL terminal.

I would ask you which airlines you are flying because there really is no designated "INTERNATIONAL" terminal. International flights depart and arrive out of three terminals at NAIA. And even a google doesn't necessarily give you the right answers these days (after all it is the Philippines, you want what? Accurate essential information? hahahahaha).

Anyway, Remington all the way - what are you going to do at the other hotels suggested? Stare at the walls or eat at Jollibee?

Seems like I need to research the Remington, Oyster Plaza, Manila Airport, and Stone House.  All appear to be good suggestions.. I'll check their websites.   As for which Terminal... it doesn't really matter as all hotels are off property, and all hotels require taxi/shuttle.

The purpose of my post is to establish quality vs cost, proximity to airport and reliability of shuttle, and establish the fact that I'm watchin' my pennies and am not looking for place for a week's stay.

So far, so good... I like what I'm seeing posted here.

We gave you hotels that are minutes from a terminal depending on which terminal you're going out of.

If you're now bringing in all those other variables you might as well stay at Go Hotel in Otis or in Mandaluyong.  Both cheap and clean but then you're 30-40 minutes away depending on traffic.  Plus no free shuttle like the Remington so add in those costs.

Issue is once you go farther away to get cheaper you're giving up other conveniences, you need to judge and balance what's important to you vs price.

I used to try to penny pinch in Manila but in the end would only save 20 or 30 bucks a day and have much more stress.  Wasn't worth it to me....
