Popular Post poby 1,757
We had our family get together and it went well. Filipinos really know how to party! My geriatric in-laws can dance up a storm when plied with sufficient liquor. Actually so can I Anyway, party's over; I wake up from a drunken stupor to find Mrs very much awake. She tells me the cops have just left. And I'm like what??? While I was dead to the world, she got a text message, claiming to be from the NBI saying they had a warrant for her arrest and would she open the gate and let them in please? Don't make us wait or we gonna be mad. She made a few calls and was advised no way is this the NBI as at the least they would be knocking rather than texting and definitely do not open the gate! She went outside and saw there were lights outside the gate and fingers under the gate trying to open the bolt. She calls the cops in a panic and to their credit, half dozen of the province's finest arrive in a few minutes packing heavy weaponry. They circle the property before knocking but the mysterious so called NBI have gone already. A few months ago, a hinge broke on the gate resulting in the bolt no longer working and the gate only secured with a piece of wire, which really wasn't secure at all. It was only a couple of days ago that I got around to fixing it. If the bad guys had tried to gain entry, it would have been too easy to push the gate open with only a slim wire holding them together. Not much point having a 10 foot high concrete block fence if the gate isn't secure. We are incredibly lucky this event didn't occur until after I fixed the gate. We have no neighbors on our ROW and a rice field out the front so it's an isolated position. Part of my long term plan is to install automatic lights and recording IR camera out the front but that won't be soon. Still, if nothing else, this night's events showed the cops here are reasonably capable and prepared, didn't take too long to arrive and when they did, they were equipped for a small war with bullet proof vests, big guns and stuff. What really amazes me is that our little town which is too small for any stores bigger than a sari sari, has a police station manned 24 hours a day.

Rather than procrastinating, you may want to put that on your short term list of to-do's, David. Obviously, someone has heard, or believes for whatever reason(s), that you have something of serious value on your property. I doubt this will be the last time they attempt to gain entry into your property. Do it now, David. Sort your shit, mate. Don't let you, your wife, or your family be unsafe when you can easily do something about it.

Obviously its someone that knows your wife....Did she try n call back??? anyway at least you are safe for now.. She didn't know the number and didn't call'm back but the cops made a note of the number. Though with sims being throwaway items, it's unlikely it's useful. Over years of nothing untoward happening it's easy to fall into a false sense of security that bad people and bad shit won't happen to you. It's a wake up call to be reminded that life is cheap here and vigilance is required at all times.

jtmwatchbiz 31,454
Adopt a couple Rottweilers that's the ONLY fix if you live out in the boonies. when poby returns to his house next year that should be the first thing on his to do list. best to make one an inside pet as the bad guys are pretty hip on how to poison guard dogs.
