PI Marriage Registered?

Recommended Posts

Asking for a friend, I know everyone says that but it's true lol.

Guy married a girl in the PI he split up with several years ago.  Now wants to marry another, but didn't annul/divorce the first girl.  The marriage happened quick and he didn't go through all the usual approvals and stuff so not sure if the girl scammed him and the marriage was ever legal.

How would he find out if he's really married to this girl at all?  I've seen posts with some guys want to marry a girl, thought they needed an annulment and found out the woman's marriage was ever registered so the woman was really free to marry all along.  What PI govt agency or department does one go to find out?  Can a third party investigate this also?

Thanks!  I'll fwd this to him.

I'm not up on the terminology, so if one has a NSO marriage cert that means it's legit and registered?

After a civil marriage ceremony in the Philippines a copy of this a taken or sent to NSO for registration.

You actualy need a cenomar is the first place to initiate a marriage. CErtificate of NO MARriage.

Asking for another cenomar from NSO will determine if he is married or not,
