There are more rules than that. I don't have the time or inclination to make a comprehensive list, but here are a few of the biggies off the top of my head:   1. Don't get involved in politics, or a

If you open a competitive business don't be successful.

The version of events I've heard was that the German (unarmed) was standing outside the front door of Mickey D's when three motorcycles with six Filipinos pulled up outside. At least three men with guns dismounted and at least one of them shot the German right there. The German then fled inside to a storage room, where he was chased down by one of the shooters and finished off with several close range shots.

I know one thing for sure, if I'm unarmed and attacked by armed hoodlums shooting at me, I'm gonna make like horses**t and hit the trail. However, I would've run away from the building rather than into it. Still might not survive, but definitely have a better chance on the street than cornered in a storeroom. If you want to get "confrontational" with armed assailants shooting at you, go for it. :)

Hindsight is perfect.

Wow.

Don't go out at night? Don't wear any jewelry? Don't go to bars?

I'm not sure some of you are actually living here.

No sure I'd call that living. I'd at least like to have the option. Thailand seems better, foodwise, transportation & safety.  Like Fillipino women more; but I'd get over that or bring one over.

For a bunch of wimps and ignorant people!
The rules here are the same as in the rest of the world, behave  and show respet for those who deserve it!
Try also with a smile occasionally to the local people, chat with them and enjoy

If you live in fear you should move to another country!

If it's worth jumping through all the hoops,  it is. If it's not it's not. Why add in layers to get more downside?  Guess I need to look at other threads to see the upside in the Phils. Seems like I'd be giving up a lot for a lot of mess.

I would think 4:20 a.m. would not be so safe at many places around the world... I've been to that Macdo once... during the day time... not a good area, I don't think...

Couldn't agree more..  But took a lot of flak when I said same thing in that other thread.

So would Los Angeles, New York, London or Paris be any better? I think they need to move to another planet!

My mrs worries more about safety then i do.

She has lived here all her life though lol
