I'm seeing wild pigs... everywhere.  On the beach playing with dogs, even on the streets.

I'm leaving here in a few minutes toward the airport where we fly into Puerto Princesa, rent a vehicle for the multi-hour road trip to Port Barton and eventually El Nido.  Be back in 11 days.

Must try KaLui Restaurant while in PP

Filippinos rough it every day, most people want something out of the ordinary for their vacation.  The opposite of fantasy is, after all, reality ;-)

It isn't on my bucket list anymore with muddy roads going through a jungle like that! Besides, I would never ever drive anywhere in the Philippines that AAP couldn't provide emergency roadside service!

Maybe that explains why I haven't seen any filipino tourist here?  It's all white people, assuming from Austrailia, Europe, etc.  Lots of backpacker types, some hippies.  Absolutely no vacationing Filipinos!  Like yourself, I don't think they would manage the road here, and I don't see them "roughing it" purposely as a vacation gig.

Great photos thank you ...it brings back memories from years ago ...like everything here in the Phils nothing looks to have changed ...still no electric ..A frames look just the same ..beach looks just as enticing ..and that road was pure dust when I was last there ..and covered in it ..no hire cars then only jeepneys ...we were the only tourists there when we stayed ...so maybe a few more now have discovered its charm ..thanks again ...

Are you sure all four images are not appearing?

They're showing up here and verified using a different browser logged out.

Must be that crappy microwave internet signal in rural Oregon?

Great trip report. I hope this starts a trend.

I second that.  I would also like to see more trip reports.

I see the same thing, bottom three images did not open and refresh/reboot did not solve the issue.

Those pictures of the pig ? ... ah, you guys should see them. There is a definite look of evil in those eyes.

So, how is Port Barton ? Did you get out to Capnica (?) Island ? You should definitely do the island hopping thing in Port Barton.
