homemade gasifier uses wood pellets to run generator

Recommended Posts

I doubt if I'll be running a generator off of wood gas anytime in the near future, but I would like to get ahold of a rice husk gasifier cook stove like the one developed by Filipino engineer Alexis Belonio, when I get back to my dirty kitchen on that "dreaded southern island" next month.

You would not want to be running a generator of wood gas if the gas is the same color as in your picture, yellow flame means high level of tar in that gas. The temperature need to be higher in your gasifier to produce a cleaner gas plus you will need to run the produced gas through a filter like SS wool ,cooper wool would even be better.

Liquid effluent from the wet scrubber indicated that there are large amounts of phenol (35%) in the gasification of rice hulls http://www.chem.tamu.edu/class/majors/msdsfiles/msdsphenol.htm

look up this guys youtube channel flas001USA

Flash stopped using that system and designed a far superior one. He has posted some excellent videos on YouTube providing a set by step videos on how to build your own gasifier,I don't think you could find a better video than what this guy has produced.
