Western Union or ? to the Philippines......

Recommended Posts

ROVER

For those who know the sending cost to the Philippines (I Don't)...what would you say is the smallest amount that would be feasible to send and have to pay to send....?

This is for someone who doesn't have Pay pal or any other way to receive payment for something. Or do you have any suggestions on another way to do it where only an I.D. is needed to retrieve the money.

The smallest amount allowed on Xoom is 50 USD with a 5 dollar fee.

When a girl asks me to just send her 500p, I tell her it's impossible. Maybe there's a way?

I can only relate that Xoom works with my USA bank account. I have no idea about other strange and mysterious places, such as Australia or Britain or (God forbid) Europe!

Western union does have more outlets than Xoom, but Xoom is well represented. Personally I use Xoom to go from my US bank account to my PNB account. Money is available in about 3 minutes.

I know others that use WU but it takes a day before their money was available.

We use exchange4free but not sure if that would suit. They have no fees.

I see that service allows you to send as little as 10 USD for a fee of 5 USD. Ouch!

They may be fee free, but they have to make money someway. Probably on the exchange rate.

Also they aren't allowed to do business in the US which is where Rover is from.

I like Xoom. The money can be delivered in person, sent to a bank account, or they can pick it up instantly at M. Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier, Palawan Pawn, BDO, Metrobank, SM Forex, and some other places.

Fees: $4.99 to send from a bank account, $5.99 from a credit card for up to $2,999. You can find "no fee" coupon codes sometimes too.

Edit: $50 minimum amount.
