so anyway our okra is growing fast .. too fast really before we can get it picked it often has grown too large to be edible as it gets very tough when they get beyond a couple inches..


but i've always liked what we call okra pearls(the seeds inside) so when we pick some we separate the over tough ones and and shell out the pearls like peas in a pod .. it can be a bit of work but oh well


then i toss them in the slow cooker for a while and sometimes we eat them just like that seasoned however 


but we also came up with a way to use them that really works out well


we mix them in with fried rice ..their texture and flavor really works well like that.. also good thrown in soups and casseroles
