Not only do they drain the Sun's energy but the retention of all that heat is causing global warming and that's not the worst part.  The really high efficiency solar panels are drawing the Earth closer to the Sun to increase the amount energy they can draw.  Nobody has really noticed this yet though as they do that at night.
