Condos starting to faulter

Recommended Posts

NOSOCALPINOY

NOSOCALPINOY, I just speed read that webpage, and it appears to concern Pinoy marriages.

It may be so, but I recently spoke to a real estate attorney who worked at a Registry of Deeds office in NCR Luzon and he mentioned that the same laws apply to foreigners also! I myself am a Filipino, but on paper only and considered as a foreigner and my name on the title of our home can not be removed by my spouse unless our marriage has been annulled, I'm long gone, dead and buried!

Perhaps some of you married guys who live in houses in the Countryside should be reminded how precarious your legal position is, instead of glibly pointing and sniggering at us condo owners.

You own no land.  If you annoy your wife, she can dispossess you in a New York minute.

I've lived in SEA for many years and I have seen this happen many times.

Don't shoot the messenger!

oh my friend so you want to play the hatfields and Mc Coys... hey its your money if you want to set it on fire do so if you want to buy a condo do so....

LOL you assume I aspire to live on land!  What if I aspire to live on a boat I build myself and whose title will be in my name?  Kinda blows your argument all to hell doesn't it?  LOL  Even better if things go to shit here, me and my boat will be headed away from here.  You and that title you hold to that condo?  You won't be following me, now will you?  ROTFLMAO

good idea..

Smokey, your lovely house was what inspired me to buy a house and throw money at it!  So I did.  hehehe

I remember a guy in Bangkok, many years ago, who bought an old teak rice barge - a beautiful thing.

He spent a lot of money turning it into a stunning houseboat.  He used to boast that he could own his own home - which was true of course.

One night he got back to the mooring, and it was gone.  He never saw it again.

I <3 Cebu

Everyone has their reasons for or against condos and/or city living, but the things you mentioned above are hardly unique to just city living in the Philippines.

I've lived in small towns and even spent some time living in the mountains in a one-room hut. I've seen all those things you mentioned there as well.

I agree, i've found it less concentrated in the rural areas though!

Not hatin, just my opinions, love the bush. I don't understand how people live in Sydney city either, especially the people who wear suits to work then another suit in the evening after work!

Could you tell us the general vicinity, size/number of bedrooms, whether furnished/unfurnished, condo facilities (pool/gym/security/ etc.) of the condo you rented so that the rent you pay (25K) can be viewed in the proper perspective? Did you get a parking space also? I take it utilities/condo dues are the tenant's responsibility?

Having read the posts since you asked this question, I think that my reply would be off topic.

However, prehaps there needs to be a new topic, perhaps called " The adventures of renting in Cebu" :)

i was thinking of using our honda city as a shuttle to take all you bigshots to the casino so i can wait in the wings with my henchmen and buy your watches but unfortunately i don't think the thing has enough power to climb the hill to your house. could you wait to be picked up at the guard station?

well at least Lee lives a stone throw's away from me so i will lurk in front of his place and try to get him in the car for the casino run. he is tops on my list as he owns multiple condo units and i just know he is the guy who looks over his balcony sipping a cocktail and laughing at me while i'm trying to jump-start my old jalopy in my driveway.

Lol, actually I get to look down on a lot of homes but I never look down on anyone who does not own a place of their own for whatever the reason might be. I know that I was lucky enough to have bought a place of my own when I got my first good job and have just kept growing onto that one. Not to mention having worked 3 jobs a good part of my life.

Come on up, the weather is fine up here. :D BTW I never gamble, I had tried in my life and never won anything so why waste the money.

First you have to find people who don't use jeeps to get to the casino... second you need to buy them lots of drinks... and third they cant be living on SS alone ///  come on lee will not fall for the old 5 card stud aces and kings wild
