US Consulate in Cebu...Where is it located?

Recommended Posts

Bill H

You would think it would be an easy question to answer, but not so!  Where is it located please?  Someone should pin the answer here because finding it has been a bitch!

Entrance is outside. Rather than walk thru the Waterfront hotel and going downstairs, it's easier to just ask the taxi to drop you in front of the consulate. It will save you at least 5 minutes of pointless walking.

Thanks folks, I also wondered where it had moved location. Anyone know their hours? Years ago, they always closed at noon.

Thanks...I didn't need to utilize the consulate in Cebu since about the mid '90's. Now that we are planning retirement there, I'm glad you put the info out in this forum.

No worries. That's what it's here for, brother, to help those who need it. :)

I don't remember the exact year now. Been too long. But, I believe they relocated the US Consular Agency around the mid 90's or so?

Below is the information directly from official Embassy web site - I would advise Americans to sign up to the smart traveler program (for travel and residence to/in Philippines):

The Embassy also operates a Consular Agency in Cebu city which offers routine passport, citizenship and other services to Americans living in the central and southern Philippines.  The Agency is located on the ground floor of the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City and is open on a walk-in basis from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM daily.  The ACS section is not open on American and some local holidays as well as Consular Training days (which is every first Wednesday of each month). The American Consular Agency is also closed during holidays.

It’s on the ground floor of the hotel premises as the main entrance to the hotel is on the raised 2nd floor… So, yes, it would save at least 5 minutes if you ask your driver to stay on the ground, straight to the Consulate… :D

The entrance to the Consulate is to the right side of the pic, white-light, around the pink-light area...

NB You are not allowed to take your backpack inside but you can your briefcase so put your docs in your briefcase for once… :D

It was in it's current location in July of 2003, so it had to be before that. The last time I was in the old location was in 1998, so it moved sometime between 1998 and 2003.

You have to be right as I was here in 94-95 and they were upstairs somewhere back behind Robinsons.....

I Moved here in Jan. 2004 and it was already where it is now at the Water Front.

Thank you for support and I send my best regards to all of you. For emergency contacts please see the Embassy Website. I have attached a list of all the departments at the Embassy for your convenience.
