Using correct grammar and correct spelling on Linc

Recommended Posts

I find that some of the most difficult posts to decipher are those that are written by english speaking members so much so that I figure they are from non english speaking countries-and that's OK.

I just blame auto correct on my tablet and phone.

As long as the meaning is clear then I don't see problem. Giving people a hard time over their spelling or grammar is usually an indication that an argument is being lost.

That's why  authors have editors.

I've written technical papers and magazine articles. One editor explained to me that we see what we think we've written and not what we wrote. She said to put what you wrote aside for at least an hour then read it. Damn I make a lot pf mistakes.

It doesn't help that I have a mental block and have only a 4th grade spelling average.

Auto-correct can be a real pain at times. particullary when coupled with FlexT9 swiping touchscreen keypad.

Come on guys - give those from Europe and Asia and Australia and the southern US states a bit of consideration

So non-redneck Americans and Canadians are the only offenders?

Seems to me that The Euro's are the biggest offenders

I have stated the same thing as the op many times. I feel that those who come to a forum about another country and in this case the Philippines, and then try to correct others use of English, are noting but aholes who think they are above the rest of us, so IMO, while they may have a better education, (also IMO) they must have a very low self worth to have the need to show off to others how smart they think they are.

Spelling has become problematic for me I blame it all on English now if we were allowed to speak and write Australian then no worries mate.  :good:

I concede that my spelling is atriouces (really bad). However I will match the content of my posts with anyone's.

Which a more important, a very correct sentence structure or an insightful thought?
