Not sure of your meaning but energy-efficient a/c will go a long way towards lower total electric bills if air conditioners are going to be used.  Currently inverter models are probably best for most people - but initial cost will be higher.  Here in Thailand all electric equipment is tested and rated for efficiency and have it displayed on unit.  But if that is not done search of specs and compare with others of like size/cost may be required.  An honest salesman can be a very good find for such purpose.

Just got our bill for the past 90 days: Consumption was 4367KW (48.53 per day) and a total cost of Au$761.78 including fees and GST. That works out to be Au$0.1744 cents per Kilowatt.  Pretty cheap fo

We pay about P12 PKWH. It is so low due to the 192 MW geothermal power plant just up the hill.

Paul, Is it possible to prevent this thread from being locked in the future so we can update our information if it changes? Especially here in the RP where it seems that the rates are about to increas

Here in Cambodia, it varies widely. I have seen rates anywhere from 720 riel (.18c US) to 2,000 riel (.50c US). At our apartment here in Battambang, the current rate is 1,700r (.425c US) but should only be 1,000r (.25c US). The owners here tend to add to the basic rate, to make money off the tenants.

This past June (2016), my city rate dropped to 1,200r (.30¢ US) / kWh. At the farm, I had mains power connected at the rate of 800r (.20¢ US) / kWh.

Here's my latest VECo electric bill (2017/05/28). Odd that it's only for 22 days... I run a 2 HP inverter A/C unit 14 hours a day, a 1 HP inverter A/C unit 4-6 hours a day, 20 cu. ft inverter refrigerator 24 hours a day, 65 inch LCD TV maybe 10 hours a day, laptop computer about 12 hours a day, fans 24 hours a day, and an all electric kitchen.

This is for a 65 sq. meter condo in Lahug (near Cebu Ayala mall).
