A question for those who have brought steel decking for use with suspended slabs in Cebu before.

Do they cut the steel decking to the required lengths or do they have set lengths in stock?

But I would have a Reciprocating saw and/or Oxy_Acetylene Torch to custom cut to size when on site.

They have docking saws and 9 inch grinders on hand which will do the job just fine.

But if cut to length they should drop into place.

I cannot get any steel decking in Maasin city. Apparently only one house has ever used it and this was a very rich politician.

It is a special order from Manila we are told.

Union Galvasteel has quoted me P505 a linear meter for 0.8 x 465 wide and P1029 for 0.8 x1020 wide.

465 wide fits my area better.

Seems high considering in Sulit a similar product is advertised for P390.35 per linear meter 0.8 x 450 wide in Manila.

Did my foreigner voice over the phone get me a higher price?

Ok I called and got a price for 0.8 x 1000 for P1029 a linear meter.

My wife called and was quoted P416.

I asked for a price and they had no idea what it was I was asking about.. Found out later I should have asked for "steel dick"..

Pronunciation issues again!

I can see now this is going to be a pain in the neck.

I need sheets if 1 meter wide

48 sheets at 0.8 x 1000 x 2850

16 sheets at 0.8 x 1000 x 875

Or 96 sheets at 0.8 x 465 x 2850

32 sheets at 0.8 x 465 x 875

So far there are sheets about a meter wide or about half a meter wide.

If half a meter wide i need twice as many.

Waiting for email from world wide steel but they dont send it.

>_<

You'll find shipping easier if you order sheets long enough to meet at the meet at the beams rather than going the whole length.

Never heard of overlapping or staggering steel decking before?

Sounds like that would defeat one of the purposes of using steel.

I had them cut to size and they will lay from beam to beam.

My beams are 250mm wide with protruding rebar in the middle. The steel decking will but up against the rebar.

This will give the steel decking a 50mm overhang onto each beam.
