To summarise in a simple way, are u using Philhealth for Out Patient and A+ for hospitalisation? I personally work with PacificPrime to get my quotes, I will recheck the one I had for A+...

Still a kind of jeopardy for me all these quotes. Having an international coverage with $/€1350 deductible sounds "hum... when it will be really interesting?".

With PacificPrime, I had 506 euros as deductible for A+ which makes the total annual cost at 958... but yes, no out patient.

For PhilHealth, you must also be employed of self-employed or retiree.

I might still use IMG for a year...

I'm pretty sure Philhealth is available to anyone able to pay the premiums, regardless of employment status. We have several relatives who are not employed and they have Philhealth.

Employment is not required. You can get it as a personal vs employment sponsored policy.

Thanks for your input, I was making the online request and was struggling when I had to choose a type/profile :)

For PhilHealth, just go to their office in Ayala and they'll help you fill out the forms. Quick and easy. No employment required, not for foreigners anyway.

Phil Health is welfare not insurance, so obviously, like all socialist programs when it runs out of other peoples' money it will cease to exist.

I am experiencing a "funny" situation with one insurance broker (I will voluntary skip his name...)

I was ready to go for IMG (despite the comments here because at the end the coverage is still good for the first year and the deductible was $250) but after a quote on the IMG website, I had a difference of $1000 for the exact same coverage/plan (gold). When I show that huge gap to the broker, he can't explain it right away as for him, he doesn't charge us... but after a few minutes, he said that if i was so "precise" (who is not when it's about covering the health of your family?), I might look for another insurer because IMG makes it always difficult when it's time to pay...

Surprising :) and late comment for a broker who first encourages me to go for that plan...
