Introduction

The United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a final version of the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) of its Fifth Assessment Report on September 27, 2013. It differs in important ways from a draft SPM dated June 2013 that circulated widely in the preceding months.

As discussed below, the new SPM reveals the IPCC has retreated from at least 11 alarmist claims promulgated in its previous reports or by scientists prominently associated with the IPCC. The SPM also contains at least 13 misleading or untrue statements, and 11 further statements that are phrased in such a way that they mislead readers or misrepresent important aspects of the science.

Two weeks before the IPCC released its report, an alternative perspective was presented by a different group of scientists, the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) (Idso et al., 2013). Unlike the IPCC, NIPCC’s charter is to investigate the causes and consequences of climate change “in the round,” or from all perspectives, rather than to search only for evidence of a human impact on climate. The NIPCC report, titled Climate Change Reconsidered II: Physical Science contradicts many of the IPCC’s findings.

The IPCC has retreated from at least 11 alarmist claims promulgated in its previous reports or by scientists prominently associated with the IPCC. The SPM also contains at least 13 misleading or untrue statements, and 11 further statements that are phrased in such a way that they mislead readers or misrepresent important aspects of the science.

In the discussion that follows, IPCC quotations are identified by their page number in the SPM using the same numbering method (e.g., SPM-3) used in the SPM itself. Chapters in the NIPCC report providing evidence contrary to the IPCC’s claims are referenced as “NIPCC, Chapter X.” The NIPCC report and its Summary for Policymakers are available online at www.climatechangereconsidered.org.

When scientist begin to actually challenge the established prevailing belives and actually look outside their narrow viewpoints do truths and new discoveries occur. Only a delusion uneducated mind will blindly accept global warming and evolution "hook-line-and-sinker". They can accept the the majority can actually just be wrong and that money and reputations can cause the purpose distortion of the truths and desire to fool the masses. There was a time they just knew the earth was flat, there was a planet Valcan, that the earth was expanding, the universe evolved around the earth, that life sprang forth from rotting logs, that opening veins cured most diseases and affections, phlogistons, large channels of water on the Mars surface, aether, Einstein’s Universe, phrenology, and on and on and on.

Everyone just knew then these to be true and you were an idiot for not believing. I have had exchanges by members with no background in the sciences or college level study in any science actually try to explain to me how science actually works. These I called pompous delusional back-seat driving scientist wan-a-bees. All you can do with these types is let them keep believing everything they are shovel-feed about evolution and spoon-feed about global warming and let them seek comfort in eating their GMO foods, taking all vaccines, eat every pill shoved at them, and let them continue believe everything they read written by the scientific authority actually has their best interest at heart.

You can not argue with a human lemming determined to live in a box as they will never admit they are not near as clever as they perceive themselves to believe, and besides they have read a few magazine articles so they are now authorities on the subject. I think the Ozzie's and Brits call them "wankers" and Bubba let me tell you there are a lot of them. In Texas we just call them "Armchair Rednecks" as many of these make-believe Einsteins actually think Pro Wrestling is real . I suggest you choose to seek enlightenment by starting to ask the question the scientist do not want you to ask, challenge everything, and look outside the little box view science want you in and start looking out side the box. Be brave enough to step outside your comfort zone and precepts as this is the true way to enlightenment rather then just being a ill-informed human lemming trying to convince yourself how smart you are. There is something dark an sinister afoot and it will devour the little fat lazy sheep and run the masses of human lemmings over the proverbial cliff.  But hey, why worry it is not like science as been proven to be completely wrong before... :biggrin_01:
