Just refer to him as, "kuya."  Kumusta ka na, kuya?  Salamat, kuya.

Kuya is brother, "dong" (short for dudong) is just a guy.

Hello Mark, this is  Ate Del Musslewhite. how is Vergie. just crossing the topic.

cebuano : giisip na taka nga igsoon,

tagalog: kapatid na ang turing ko sayo.

You can use the word "IGSOON or KAPATID" to all your siblings either ( male or female.) either they are younger or older than you.

Though we have different words for younger or older siblings.

My wife said you can use either her's  or Maanyag's as the difference between them is only a little variation in the sentence structure.

My wife is "I consider you my brother."

Maanyag is "I think of you as my brother"

you can use both as both are proper for your needs.

Cebuano - Gihuna huna nako nga murag ka ug akong igsoon nga lalaki.  (I think of you like my brother)  (igsoon nga babaye - sister.)

don't translate it word by word, Filipinos has their own way to say it.

consider saying this to someone "inigso-onay lang ta" which could also mean "i consider you my brother"
