What to do when REAL Human Trafficking is suspected?

Isn't what she is doing against the law at the very least. Lying and withholding information from immigration and probably entering Siberia without a Visa. All of our wives have had to go through hell just to accompany us home. Much of the hell was from the Philippine government requirements. She has to have a return ticket to leave. If she isn't to bright, she may not even know that. Her mother being an OFW might not have ever had to have one, so she might not know either. I still think even with a letter they will run her through the mill at the least. Look how many of us have had our GF stopped and questioned and they are legal age ( I hope) and didn't need an exemption in the first place.

This whole thing stinks, even if the guy is totally legit. At the very least he is an a**hole for not coming to get her.

Someone needs to drop a dime on her. What ever happened to it's better to be safe than sorry?

How about contacting the GMA TV station?

I think they have a program similar to the Nightline and have them make a featured program to protect Filipinas from potential human trafficking…

They can give her a 15-min fame and possiblly some monetary rewards, so she may go for it and fly all the way to Serbia, while the officers from PNP, DSWP, NBI, Interpol, EU, UN, NPO, etc. and the TV crew shadowing her to possibly expose an organized human trafficking group…

Simple Man, I hope you will keep us informed as this drama plays out. It would be nice to know if the girl boards the plane and what happens to her then. I would suppose that once she gets to Hong Kong, she will get a ticket and documents, or an escort to accompany her to whatever her final destination is. It would also be nice to know if she is ever heard from again after she leaves Hong Kong.

You underestimate the power of the DFA, human trafficking is against international law, especially if she is an underaged Filipina!

I hope you are saying you have seen no 'proof' rather than no 'indication'.  I would think that an indication would be a red flashing light that says:  Caution, there may be traffic coming.  Doesn't mean there is but it means look very carefully.

Look at the news, read the Republic acts concerning women and children, human trafficking is charged anytime a minor is involved.

She'll need a visa.  That will slow her down, I guess.  There is no visa on arrival for Filipinos.

No she won't. Filipinas don't need a visa to go to Hong Kong on vacation. If she is successful in getting there, and she has contacted her "Serbian" boyfriend, do you think she would be travelling with her own documents to anyplace beyond Hong Kong? I seriously doubt it. She won't get tripped up on visas.

She will, however, need a round-trip ticket, so they think she is returning to the Philippines. My guess is that if somebody is footing the bill to get her to Europe, they won't have any problems with buying a round-trip ticket between the Philippines and Hong Kong and then just throwing away the return ticket.

Hong Kong is a hub for human trafficking.     She may even never leave HK, or may never set foot in Serbia.

Too many people claim they 'know' somebody, but only know them from the internet, and often a family member is involved in the human trafficking.

And she might find herself married to a peasant farmer in some backwater in China.
