ILoveCyrus 1,126
Hi all, We live in Pajac Lapu Lapu and according to many, Globe Wimax is probably the best option for our home Internet. 1. Is it fast and worth it? 2. is it expensive per month? 3. can I bundle with TV and land line phone? 4. what is a better option, better company? I want info from people in the KNOW here.... LastManStanding 70
I live in Pajac, there internet generally sucks all around. Between, Globe, PLDT, and Smartbro, this is what I found. For globe and pldt dsl, it depends how far you are from the junction box, it is my fear that pajac is so far from the main loop that you can't get 3mb consistently. Globe told me I could only reliably get 1 MB. I have PLDT and can only get 1mb as well even though I paid for 3mb. However I use a Smartbro 512mb (may be higher now, bursts to 2mb at night). I have a direct line of sight over a field to the antennae so the quality is quite good but its slow, however it has worked for me for 3 years without much incident which is in direct contrast to my pldt. If you go for wimax, again it depends on quality of the tower you are connecting to. SkyCable is available with internet but my experience is that can't even get the signal working half the time so the internet is probably even worse. I don't think they have the cable internet yet in Pajac. Personally I would go with one dsl connection and one wireless method. Get the lowest amount cause you have to lock in for like 1 year or two. Whichever ones performs the best, upgrade it and see if it actually works properly. Otherwise you might go and sign up for 5-10mb connection for $100 a month and find out you only get 1mb. Forgot any cable option, go with satellite or torrents for that.
hyaku 2,796
How about Globe pocket Wi-Fi. Any good? Will it be any better than a straight sim connection? All the quad tablets I see are Wi-Fi only. Edited August 12, 2013 by hyaku
ILoveCyrus 1,126
I was using TATTOO back in June 2012 in Pajac. It worked just fine in my opinion. Why O Why does internet have to suck in Pinas.

I have WiMax and like it ok. For me it's about the only option for Internet and/or landline. When I originally got it about 2 years ago the only option was p1299 for 1Mb and Landline. 8 or 10 months later I was in there asking about faster options and the one guy I talked to said I could get 2Mb and phone for p1295 so I signed up for that. Since then I often speed test to well over 1Mb but everyone I talk to says only 1Mb available, even the Globe installers. Hahahahaha So tell them you want 2Mb and keep asking around until you get someone that knows it's available. Globe doesn't do TV. I suggest Cignal Satellite for that.
