i think north korea has a big mouth and a hand out.. worked before no reason for them to think it won't work again.. sure they may have someone crazy enough with access to a button.. but it's more likely they will keep selling their knowledge or parts to whomever will pay or they can get it to .. or pass along some stuff to whoever is willing to use it against us .. dirty bomb and the like

mostly they just want us to keep sending them cake while they get to bluster and build

it can't be that much of a surprise can it. It was on the front page of this morning's New York Times.

the problem the US has with war is we usually lose the political will before the job is done and start seeing ourselves as the bad guy

I am sure this Kim character is crazy, but really, is he as crazy as he is letting on that he is?

Could it be possible that he wants someone to strike his country first so the North can actually lose, be repatriated with the South and all will have plenty instead of the North having little or nothing.

He surely cannot simply join the South because if he did he would first lose face and disrespect for all his whacked out Father before him had done, but he would surely lose his life as well.

Think about it,  Korea bring reunited would be good for all, Kim could retire in peace with whatever passes for dignity and honor where he comes from.

Nobody would have to starve and all it would take is for the North to lose a mock war to the South.

Nah, just a pipe dream, he has to be totally insane, never mind.

Headed that way

that's probably enough those guys in dark glasses to start a file on you. Anybody making threats against the President of the United States is in trouble. You guys got from the Brits' Treason Act way back in the 14th century where anybody 'compassed or imagined' the death of the king found themselves in a dungeon quick.

No, not likely.  Here in the U.S. we reserve that kind of oversight for sexual predators.

while to be fair you only said you would cheer some other person who would do this rather than offer to do it yourself, plenty of people have found themselves in jail for not much more than that. It's a felony. Unlike people who have consensual sex, which is not.

Watched CNN last night about a 2010 attack, unprovoked, from NK to some island belonging to SK.  Thats crazy but was that Kim dude the culprit?  The documentary said the residents of that island fully expect it to happen again and are hoping there will be a response to it this time.

What do they sell other countries?

You got me wondering and Google tells me this may be the answer:

North Korea is very rich in minerals and the Chinese have recently entered into a number of very large mining deals for zinc and coal and other products,” says Donald Rickerd, an associate fellow at the University of Toronto’s Centre for the Study of Korea.

Apparently North Korea gets much of it's money from drug dealing and counterfeiting.

Like I said, we worry more about the sexual predators taking advantage of the naive or the innocent.   I'd rather see a thousand politicians the like of Obama be targeted by crazy, delusional dictators than see a decent person targeted by a sexual predator.   Here in Oklahoma plenty of people have also found themselves in jail for preying on others, far more than would be arrested for joking about a crazy man 10,000 miles away threatening an unpopular president.  Even better is when the family takes care of the sexual predators, we tend to turn those folks loose as they were doing the state a favor taking out a dangerous person to society.

Now what does consensual sex have to do with presidential threats?

Well you know Whippy, he occasionally talks about something he actually knows something about.....sex.

At one point North Korea was responsible for the majority of counterfeit American dollars.  Not sure if that is the case any more, but it used to be.  Diplomatic immunity makes for really easy drug smuggling too and all that nuclear and missile technology is also for sale to the highest bidder.  Sometimes it pays to be a rogue state.

North Korea Releases Video Of Paratrooper Attack On South Korea

Latest video shows total North Korean domination in a three day unification war scenario

 March 21, 2013

A new video

published by Uriminzokkiri shows how South Korea will be occupied

within three days by North Korean forces, and U.S. military bases in the

Pacific Ocean “wiped out”.

Portraying a battle plan for a “Unification War” scenario, the latest

North Korean propaganda video takes a day-by-day look at how the Korean

People’s Army will achieve an absolute victory of South Korea in just

three days.

“On the first day, once the order is given, the Korean People’s Army

will fire 240mm Multiple Rocket Launchers, 250,000 medium / long range

ballistic missiles, and 1000 surface-to-surface missiles for the first

30 minutes towards South Korea and U.S. combined bases, like a shower

from the heavens.”

“South Korean and U.S. combined air forces will be in a panic, without even one plane having taken off.”

Meanwhile, 50,000 Special forces infantryman will “make a surprise

attack on South Korea and U.S. combined air force bases, naval bases,

missile bases and other power plants.”  Next, the video shows how North

Korean forces will capture the 150,000 Americans currently living in

South Korea, as “prisoners of war.”

On day two of the “Unification War”, the video shows how 10,500 North

Korean paratroopers will enter Seoul by air, dropped from Korean

People’s Air Force aircraft flying at an altitude of 80m.

Simultaneously, “4,600 tanks and 3,000 armored cars will head to South

Korea” and “infantry troops will approach” to “sweet them out”.

“Of course, right after the War has began, we will strike the U.S.

pacific ocean bases and wipe them out”, the narrative goes on to say.

ROK-Under-Occupation.jpg

On the third day, the video shows how South Korean citizens will be

in a “state of confusion without any food supply, water supply,

communications network, and traffic network.” But fortunately, North

Korean forces will “occupy South Korea and make stability operations,

such as restoring provision systems.”

“Like this, we have a Unification War scenario that will be finished in just 3 days.”

The video ends by noting that, “Even though the U.S. keeps practicing

the invasion of North Korea scenario with computer simulations, they

are trembling with fear and can’t open the scenario to the public.”

While the propaganda video might seem absurd to many, North Korean

forces do in fact possess many of the capabilities detailed within the

clip. However, the video shows a particularly one-sided account of

potential events, making little reference to what would likely be

significant U.S. and Republic of Korea defense and counter-attack

capabilities,

Over the past several weeks, North Korea’s Uriminzokkiri platform has

published multiple videos portraying attacks on U.S. cities, military

bases, and even President Barack Obama. The videos have appeared

simultaneous to a general increase in threats towards South Korea and

the U.S. following international condemnation of Pyongyang’s third

nuclear test and December rocket launch.

Uriminzokkiri is one part of the North Korean propaganda apparatus,

and is notable for its role on social media, which includes a Twitter,

Facebook, Flickr and YouTube site. On top of the outlandish video

released two weeks ago, it has produced numerous crude video games that allow users to perform violent acts against top South Korean and U.S. politicians.

Mean while 30 minutes into an enormous brain fart North korea reels under a relentless barrage of cruise missiles and air attacks and if the dickhead leader of that piss poor beaverry decides to hit the big button (if they can launch a nuke that is) their ashes will not settle for about 10000 years, courtesy of much more modern and well tested nukes...
