opening a restro in cebu

Recommended Posts

I know of a expat who is  considering to open a restro business in the cebu area.

what suggestions would one give ?

location? permits?  what ones would he need? the costs of these permits?

construction?

type of food/cuisine?

where would he get his supplies/equipment?

anyone know of any recent success or failures of other expat run business ? and what happen to them?

any links to sites that could help make a better decision?

Sounds like a lot of work, but if he goes door to door in different areas and pops into of all of the restos he can find, count heads, take tabs on what the people are eating and check the price lists, he'll have a general idea as to where to open and what to serve and even how much to charge.

Once the resto opens, pretty girls who are tastefully dressed is also a big draw and by counting the tips, you can keep track of which waitress is the best money maker.

just what part of NO do you not understand ?

Take your money to the casino.  More fun and better odds.

Never gotten my order nearly that fast.  Did you pay extra for 'same day service?'  Don't remember them having music, maybe they turn it up when thtey see you coming?  Hahaahaha  Been a while since I'

If you've got one local to you and havent tried it, go to Five Guys Burgers, I think that concept can be fairly easilly copied here but add in beer sales, can't fathom why they dont sell beer in the US... but moot point.

Anyway, one of my favorite places.  Certainly not a "high end" burger place but its quality food, reasonable prices, maybe a tad bit pricey, but put it in Ayala or near the airport and I think it would do well.

I agree about the Five Guys concept working ias long as you could get freah meat, quality cheese and buns.

Its hard but it can be done.  Just look who's got their resto for sale, even after 3 years of info from this site, and see how it happens.

Flame-it!

Ayala atrium, top floor, hiding outside on the "smokers" balcony, nearby down escalator.

Their top burger and fries/drink combo is under 200Php.

Their "patty" is twice the size of Mickey D's 1/4 pounder.

Cooked to order; and "flame-it" means patty held in tongs over a flame to burn off excess oil!

Fries are real potato and cooked individually too!

Wait ten minutes for your order!

You can ask them (nicely) to turn the crap music down, they're used to me!

I would put them on par with UK Burger King or better?

I'll definately give them a try, been looking for a good burger place.  I tried a certain Irish Pub which is a popular subject here but definately won't be going back there.

Hopefully these guys are good, too bad its a fight and a half to get the wife out to Ayala, tell them to open a store in SM Lacion and i'll be there weekly

Look in the telephone directory, (old school) there used to be one at the side of Golden peak condotel but moved on with redevelopment, there's a decent wine bar there called "the wine shop", only a few Koreans weekdays!

Don't remember them having music, maybe they turn it up when thtey see you coming?  Hahaahaha  Been a while since I've been there though.  Always seemed like amazingly slow service and there was something wrong with the buns, like there was some uncooked flour in them or something.  I go to The Burger Joint now.  Joint Burger with onion rings and large pepsi product around p135.  There's a place in IT Park called Army-Navy.  I'm told has good burgers but not for p135 I imagine.
