If she had TB they may stop her ever going there. You should have pulled the application rather than tell them.

you have my deepest sympathy in trying to deal with these questionable imbessites. an english woman friend of mine trying to return to oz had nothing but vile expletives when i asked her about the em

If your mate was in Aus before 2001 on a Special Category Visa (what all Kiwis arrived on) then he's classed as a permanant resident in the eyes of immigration, and able to sponsor.   I sponsored my

i have tried to get my GF to visit Australia on a tourist visa, have tried 3 times, on all three occassions have been refused, i can tell you from my experience that it depends on the attitude of whoever gets ur application and how they are feeling on the day, they have thrown (Oz Embassy) every excuse at us to refuse our applications,  when the first application was refused i went to great efforts to do my homework on the second and third applications but without success.

the way i look at it is if you are financially well off there is not a problem, if ur a middle wage earner with little assets it is alot harder to obtain a tourist visa to Australia, i have seen on other forums where it has not been a problem for some couples.

We have been together now 4 years, i have been to Cebu 7 times in that period, photos to proof it, the evidence trail goes on, even had my supervisor write a letter on my behalf to say my GF would return when she is suppose to, that if she did not i would lose my employment, joint bank accounts, i have been surporting her in the 4 years we have known each other, i can fully understand why it gets frustrating especially when all im trying to do is bring someone i love to my country in a lawfull manner.

Cheers

This is the thing i cannot understand...if you r married/defacto its harder to get a visa than if you apply for a PMV-prospective marriage visa as in you need to get married in oz within 8 months....makes no sense to me.....

I have spoken to three different Migration Lawyers here in Australia who have all told me it is much harder to get a tourist Visa than Fiancee or spouse.  The flight rick is much much higher on a tourist visa.

You are liable for your gf/wife etc when she comes over on a spouse/fiancee.  Therefore, the flight risk % is apparently a lot lot less.

I was unable to get a toursit visa for my girlfriend, but did get a fiancee visa.  Sucks..

Thanks mate,

You are not the bearer of bad news. We received an email late yesterday arvo from the case officer requesting further information ( which was quite hard to understand – see below )

“ I refer to your application for a visa for Australia.

Your health examination has been assessed by a Medical Officer of the

Commonwealth at Global Health who has advised that they require further

information before deciding on medical eligibility for an Australian

visa. The request for further information relates to YOU and is:

Chest specialist's reports including 3rd Nov. 2012 received with thanks.

Await final report with

repeat chest x-ray and form 160 upon completion of TB treatment.”

The way I understand it, they have requested a final x-ray, follow up report and completed form 160. THIS IS WHAT SHE DID ON DECEMBER 1ST 2012 !!!!!!!!!

My partner will visit Nationwide Health today and ask for evidence to prove that they did actually send this to the Embassy. We have also asked the case officer to confirm that these were the results that were sent to Global Health in Australia.

Of course, there is the obligatory message at the end of the email –

“These further examinations will need to be referred to Australia and

will mean that your application will take longer to process than

previously advised.”

This is really good.  Your following in my footsteps exactly hahaa

Just continue what your doing and try and keep your head up.  You'll see if you have done everything right, she'll get  it.

if you go to the OZ embassy and tell them you are flat broke and need help getting home

so they tell you to click you heels together and say "there's no place like home." ?

Don´t hold your breath getting anything from them!

Unfortunately, the chest x-ray showed an active pulmonary tuberculosis in her right lung. Treatment commenced immediately.

you have been w/your wife/partner for 5 plus years, had a beautful child.

during this time did she ever have any medical treatment of any kind?  not even a simple blood test.work? x-ray? UA?

had this been done, perhaps you could have already been there,

TB seems to be everywhere is the RP, maybe you have been exposed.

the cost to check it .is very low.. cant pay?? philhealth will pay for yor treatment.

My concern is that if the mother has it, now cured,, have you checked on your child or even yourself?

sorry if i am off topic but (OUR HEALTH.) your health, your wife/partners health is IMPORTANT esp since you have a child.

Thanks.. Yes, both our child and I tested negative to TB.

Thats the irony - my partner will not get any closer to anyone than our child and I, and we dont have TB, so what are the chances that she will infect people that she will never come into contact with.

TB patients are considered 'no longer infectious / contagious' after their first two months of treatment, so there would have been zero threat to the Australian population even if her Tourist Visa was granted months ago.
