Reynaldo 124
Starting December 9th 2012 Cebu Pacific Air will be flying direct to Bangkok from Cebu. Promo rate advertised on their website is P788 for one way fare. Sale Period: Up to Oct. 9, 2012 or until seats last | Travel Period: Dec. 1, 2012 - Mar. 31, 2013 This is great if you have ever had to fly to Bangkok via Clark or Manila. udonthani 2,027
if you think that the fare will be anything like 788 pesos, you'd better think again. In practice, the fare will average out at 10 times that, i.e. in the region of 8,000 pesos plus - 200 dollars. A lot of money for a 2500km one-way flight on a budget airline. I flew from Clark to Bangkok round trip one week ago for under 5000 pesos
KennyF 3,856
They're advertising 688 pesos. Lets say that triples with taxes etc to 2,064 That comes in under $50.00. Not too shabby. Even if it was $100. I'm going to do it. It sure beats frigging around in Clark or Manila. KonGC

Staying in a hotel in Clark added an additional P2000 cost for the trip to Bangkok So yes, Cebu to Bangkok will be far more convenient. Additionally, it gives folks traveling from Cebu to Bangkok an additional option. Edited October 9, 2012 by Reynaldo
Voyager 204
Don't know how you can even say a price since the website will not be active until what they say will be 6am on the 10th. Try to buy a ticket, sorry you can't or even login if you have an account with them.

udonthani 2,027
Cebu Pacific is just a rip off for international flights though they're OK for domestic. take a flight, from Cebu to Bangkok on a random date months away in the future which you might think would be cheap that far ahead, February 13 Cebu-BKK is 8300 pesos to do the 2500km - 3.32 pesos per km. Air Asia's Clark-Kuala Lumpur, the same distance, it's 2870 pesos or 1.14 pesos per km - THREE TIMES more expensive. Edited October 9, 2012 by udonthani
KennyF 3,856
8300 pesos Where did you get that figure from? KonGC
udonthani 2,027
that is what it costs to fly from Cebu to Bangkok on February 13, four months from now. The same day, Air Asia will get you the same distance Clark to KL for 2,800.
KennyF 3,856
When I tried to look it up the booking site is off line from 6pm to 6am. I'll look tomorrow. KonGC
udonthani 2,027
very rare you'll find a fare for the route for less than 8000. somebody might think 8000 is cheap for a almost four hour international flight well maybe it is if you're comparing it with American fares but it's not cheap when you compare it to Air Asia's prices. Alan S 4,607
I would welcome any flight that goes direct to Cebu rather than through Manila.
