BFHammer 584
But it's a rag. Kind of like Fox in the US I believe, but Ive never watched Fox. You should watch it, likely the first time you'd get to see leftist AND right opinions instead of all socialist all the time like the rest of the media.
BFHammer 584
At least i know now why some People dislike french. Its all about misinformation by the media and preposterous reports in some private owned profit oriented TV Stations and Cheap Tabletop Boulevard Press Tabloids newspapers. Mixed with some sublime unfounded fear about the "unknown". Topped with some age old prejudices from times when we had Kings and Wars. And no practical real experience except for the lucky ones which had 8 day vacation with maybe 24 hours in one of the cities there. Which don't matter actually, because 99 % of the people watching or reading those media or having those "opinions" ain't never gonna go anywhere, nor have they any influence at all in any question. They just go ( or most actually not ) go to elections and that's it for their "influence". Sad indeed, its a bit like eating canned food every day without ever having tried to cook. I enjoyed the women in France, it was just the arrogance of some of the men and their entire government for the last 5 decades that has created the general dislike. Then again I enjoy women nearly everywhere I go! Except I'll never visit a place where all the women are treated like pets and stuffed in burkas.

So, let me see if I have this right...you started a thread about Americans not liking French people because you felt an urge to defend France? If you had your mind made up, why ask the question in the first place? Over 180 posts and that's all you can come up with? Why is it important to you that people like the French? And why is it important that you insult people who disagree with your opinion of the French people? Somehow, I think you think that the French are important to Americans....nothing could be farther from the truth. Nothing in Europe is important to average Americans unless you all start another war......Just think of the boost to the economy of Europe that would be...a whole new industry in France making white flags and running shoes. And all the French restaurants would be busy making meals for the people they surrender to....Ah yes, that would be great for the value of the Euro.....Dennis

Alan S 4,607
As this thread has gone on for long enough (some would say too long) and has drifted off topic, I think it is time to press the "off" button.
