He/She might look for another one. Or

He/She might find another one.

Hi Larry,

I need to know the context because it is not a complete sentence. I can only deduce that someone had done something that might provoke her/him into finding someone else.

"kay ngita nya na lain" this is a text-like message, contracted.

The complete version is "kay mangita unya na ug lain"

kay = because

mangita = will find, look for

unya = can mean might or later

na = short for "kana" meaning "that"

lain = can be both a noun and an adjective

= (adjective) different, another type, kind

= (noun) if referring to a person, means someone else

ex. Si John naa'y lain. John has another woman. (the woman here is implied)

Si John naa'y lain nga babayi. John has another woman.

So, the phrase contextually means "because he/she might find someone else"

The literal meaning is "because that might find someone else."

I hope this is clear enough.

Thanks. Yes, this is part of a chat session that we are trying to translate for a client. my wife being from dumaguete does not understand some of the finer points of cebuano.
