Making money off stock maket investments

This is not addressed solely to you, but to several of the posters here.

I wonder if you wander round calling complete strangers, liars, in your everyday life?

If so, it is a wonder that you have existed as long as you have, but I would give good odds that someone, somewhere will take exception.

Now, if you dont do that in the "real" world, why do so on a message board?

Such posts only cause problems, and that means that some people leave, and eventually a forum such as this will die.

As for the topic, if someone tells me he has made millions, then I will accept his word, as it might be true.

If, however, I meet him and he cant afford a beer, then I will know that he is "economical with the truth".

Excellent post Alan. The attacks on new posters put them off posting here and we lose some really interesting people. The moderators do their best but this site needs an ignore button.

All or nothing - i'm a ford man too. We got 3 of them, my wifes and my daily drivers and a 13yo V8 project car we use in the local Ford Club runs and for some fun down the strip. Nothing like your mustang but we ran under 11.5 secs and blew a few jap craps away. We also got ford shares I bought many years ago and some more we bought earlier this year. Investing with my heart not my brain but hopefully they will be worth something one day. I hope your move to the Phils works out well.

  • 2 weeks later...

It looks like today might be a good day to put on long vega trades. I am thinking I will try an Aug09/Jan10 calender on GIS General Mills and see what happens. And I have to put one on in IBM too. This guy I know has been doing triple calenders on IBM for years. So I think I will work on that.

OK, I believe you.

Post copies from the brokers statements and we are all clear.

Otherwise, cheap talk.

.

Well I'm not in the league with AoN I don't see that animosity is warranted. I made about $10K in the last 3 days, but then I only risked what I thought I could without it being a disaster. In the end it's only money and we all need some, but really only so much.

I'm thankful that my relatively few travels have taught me that at least.

See this is what I'm talking about. Please re-read what I wrote. You are so quick to say I'm lying you didn't read what I wrote.

I said I bought Ford in at $1.51 and it is currently at $5.63.

Hmmm.

Hmmm.

Ford is now sitting at $6.09

With any good news when they report their earnings it will hit $8 - $9 before years end.

Woo Hoo

Ford is now at $7.10 and my ARM stocks jumped to $4.29

Ford actually made a 2.3 Billion profit in the 2Q. I am having a great day today. $9.00 a share before the end of the year is now very very possible however I think it will come much sooner.

Now I am thinking seriously about selling my Ford.

How about a serious "Investing Club". This is a way to "put up or shut up". I've been investing/trading for about 20+ years and have yet to make 100% yearly! But, I have enjoyed it. It is like the casino, only you have a better chance if you do a lot of homework, follow a strict plan, and avoid greed. Not easy to do.

I'm in the US now and will be coming back to Cebu for a few months around November. I would like to meet others interested in getting together for an informal group. The discussions would center on your stock projection and the reasons for it. Not on what you may or may not have done last month.

This is a good blog on non directional, defined risk, positive theta trades on US Index Equity options and other kinds of trades. I am learning how to do this. It may take me another year to a year and a half to start to really get the hang of it. Edited by love

This is interesting, you can easily see where the market strength is with this simple setup.

The purple line is SPY and the the various popular SPDR's compared as percentage.

I don't know if this is a good idea but I will give it a try. I want to retire early so I am looking to make income money in the stock market so I can do this.

Before investing in stocks you should Research stock brokerage houses and select a stockbroker for your stock trades. Ensure factors like execution fees, monthly or annual fees, inactivity fees, low minimum balance and discounts. Place your buy order through your stockbroker. Log onto your stockbroker

The question is how. If I could master a skill that could do this it would be something that is portable, that is I can take it anywhere in the world.

I think I have found a way to do this. This guy on you tube, Options Safari with Dan Sheridan talks about strategies to make money on the stock market. So I have been working on doing just this, an options trading business. But it will take some time for me to get good at it. This just might be way to complicated for most people, After learning more about this I can see few people will invest the time and effort necessary to actually be successful at this.

My hope is to be able to make at least 100% a year on my investments, This is not unusual for people to make this kind of money doing this.

O yea this is not day trading, unless you count gamma scalping.

Well I will see if this sparks any interest.
