Soupeod 9,373
On the way back from Tacloban today, there was a checkpoint entering our city. We all started pulling out our vaccine cards, rolled down the window to the PNP officer and he said Comulec check, drivers license please. Showed it, and said good afternoon and we were on our way! Get ready for the fun! 😂😂 3 Link to post
mikewright 4,830
Fun times indeed. Remember being driven from Tacloban airport to Ormoc City many years ago at election time and approaching a checkpoint. Driver took a pistol out of the glovebox and put it under his seat. Apparently not lawful to carry guns for a certain time before elections. Edited January 10 by mikewright 1 1 Link to post
rfm010 4,115
Viber group for my subdivision has been going nutsy kookoo over the need to elect leni and earnestly telling each other just how bad the other candidates are. Pink parols sprouting on trees all over the place. Daughter has been traveling a good bit and rubbing elbows with the unwashed masses. She feels from what she's heard our neighbors are setting themselves up for some serious disappointment. 2 Link to post

Checkpoints will be with us for awhile. If need be stash your firearms under the empty beer bottles. They never look there. 1 1 Link to post

Meanwhile the local mayor and governor here keep visiting me and hitting me up for donations. It's a kind of democracy I guess. Kinda sorta. 2 Link to post

Marcos led the poll with 60% and Robredo was second with 15%. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno came in third with 10%, followed by boxing icon Sen. Manny Pacquiao on 8%, and Sen. Panfilo Lacson with 2%. Sara Duterte led the VP poll with 53%. 1 2 Link to post

BossHog 42,074
Just now got our 'voter money'. 7,000 PHP per head. With 27 registered voters in my household it does add up. Drinking Cerveza Negra today instead of the usual Pilsen. 2 Link to post
