Pman 4,928
Anyone have USAA set up to transfer money directly to your Philippine bank? If so which one and how much are the fees from Philippine bank?
Pman 4,928
Bpi is just open a few hours a day and could not get anyone. PNB answered immediately but wouldn’t say how much a wire transfer would be. But they can do it. BDO is a hassle every time I try to do anything with them so ruling them out altogether due to experience.
Davaoeno 38,490
I have had money sent via SWIFT to my Philippines bank many times.Usual wire fee was $30 usd and receiving bank charged $5 usd ( usually sent 100K to 200K each time). I don't know the fees for smaller amounts

I use AUB bank here in Ormoc and they have branches in Manila. Bank is really up to you, many choices, talk to the manager, if you dont like him, go to another.

Do you have it set up through Plaid, or do you manually wire transfer the money to Wise every month? The idea of giving my username and password to Plaid scares the living shit out of me, but we've been programmed the past 30+ years never to give out that kind of info. Maybe there is no problem with it, but it goes against the grain if you know what I mean!
SkyMan 26,845
BPI has transfer account with BNY (I think). Remittance charge is about $6.50 for up to p50K. You transfer to BNY with your BPI account number, USD or peso, and money shows up minus the fee. Takes a few days. There might be a small %age fee for pesos. ( yeah I know what you mean 😊) Side note for others - Europeans have even more banking options including a credit card.

Wise uses Plaid, it just pops up on the screen long enough to ask you the info and verifies. I ended up opening a checking account at Wells Fargo for the sole purpose of sending money through Wise. Everything seems to be going smoothly, they said it would be in the bank by 11:30AM on the 8th. Hopefully the brother-in-law gave me a valid bank account number! They charged $5.76 to send $700 @ 50.458P. Thanks! My wife has been using Sigue, but for the past few months, every time she sends money, she has to send them pictures of her ID, wants her SSN, asks her 50 questions. She said to hell with them, told me to find another way!

And a good exchange rate.
