Cell Phone to Use While in U.S.

Went to Walmart yesterday to get load for phone to use here - big hassle - couldn't be loaded after 2 hours. Went back today. Rep from a company called OSL assisting the Mobile Center clerk.

Right away he said your old Trackphone won't work anymore. Was going to buy another one for $20 and buy monthly load ($25/ mo) for as long as I'm here. He said you're a vet -  Verizon has a pretty good deal. $250 unlocked Motorola Moto  G Power smartphone 64 Gig  for $32 + $35 activation fee - no contract - cancel anytime. Normal monthly fee is $80 for unlimited voice / text / data - with valid military I.D. (VA health card) is only $30 month.

He said when you can go back just cancel monthly billing - again no contract signed - and the phone is yours to keep - just pay at least 1 months billing

2 minimum / 3 more likely. Cheapest burner phone was $30 at Walmart and limited plan was $25 - yeah the phone and plan more expensive but the "unlocked"phone much easier for me to manipulate and see screen.

I'd be surprised if you get back before I do and I'm looking at January.

Wife has a Moto that I bought her a couple of years ago when we visited the States. Works fine here.
