mikecon3 441
So "The Wall That Heals" is starting off the 2021 tour in my home town today. It's a scaled down version of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that they haul around to educate the public. Pretty cool, I will have to check it out. This morning I noticed a humongous US flag flying between two construction cranes, figured out that was why. The local Corvette and Antique cars club, as well as motorcycle riders, are escorting it this afternoon for the 1 hour drive. I bet I passed over 100 motorcycles heading that way this morning. The Facebook page has a girl filming the staging area. If I can get some pictures or find links to videos, I'll add them in the comments. The wife asked why all the motorcycles wanted to be in the escort. I told her besides being patriotic, it's probably a pretty cool thing to do! https://www.vvmf.org/The-Wall-That-Heals/ https://www.facebook.com/TheWallThatHealsNewBern/

I've visited both versions and I can say it was an incredibly moving experience and I can't say I am related to or know anyone named. Walk along and ponder the sacrifices of so many as well as their friends and families.

The graphic immensity of seeing all those lives lost carved in that wall...causes many emotions.
