rfm010 3,525
irish italian spaghetti . i don't know why irish or italian but that's the way it's written on the recipe card. 1 onion of unknown size, not too big as i'm not fond of onions 2 Tb of salad oil although i don't like oil on my salad 1 lb ground beef use good stuff 1 tsp salt 1 tsp chili powder or more, depends on who is cooking , a bit more is good 1/2 tsp tabasco (or similar) sauce ok if it is skipped, i add it 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 can cream of mushroom soup campbell's is best 1 can tomato soup good luck finding it, tomato sauce can substitute, maybe is better. i haven't thought about it before 1/2 grated parmesan cheese or however you want to substitute for this i do the following in a decent size sauce pan: cook onion in hot oil til golden. add beef and all seasonings (not the cheese) and brown the beef. cover and simmer about 10 minutes. add soups (straight from can, don't dilute) and cover, simmer about 45 minutes. about 5 minutes before done add the cheese. occasionally stir as the sauce might begin to stick and burn on the bottom a little bit of stick and burn can be flavorful, but don't go overboard recipe says 8 oz long spaghetti, you can play with the amount of spaghetti this recipe is good for. leftover sauce goes good on top of nicely buttered garlic bread or toast
