Tried to have some registered mail sent yesterday from the States to d'Phils. USPS isn't accepting any shipments here for the time being. Should have expected that but it was worth a try.

I’m hoping that things will change for the better over the next couple of days. However, it seems to me that the courier companies have not managed to figure out how to move stuff on to an island that doesn’t have any current air service and won’t take people. Either that or a medical and food supplies cargo only restriction is in place.

UPDATE

The UPS package that was shipped in Canada on May 8, and arrived in Manila May 13 (via Clark) has just been delivered here in Masbate.

This looks like a good thing to me!

Just got an LBC package of rare orchids from Bukidnon to Siargao. Both places in Mindanao obviously.

Ten days is not good for live flowers and we'll need to see if we can resuscitate them.

Normally would have been closer to thirty-six hours.

US military retired activities office. Has nothing to do with Philpost.

I would say your wife is correct as banks are currently not accepting foreign currency checks because the mail isn't going on int'l flights yet.

Received mail via Philpost in Ormoc last week from the states.  It took from Feb to Jun to get here.

No mail from outside of Cebu is being received or sent in Cebu province.  This has been confirmed by the Area Post Master.

Could be it was already in the country before the lockdown.

Could be, but that was the normal Philpost guy delivering. So they must be open in some sort.

Received ShippingCart package from US last Friday. I think they're owned by LBC. Sent from California to Manila, then to Cebu.

So, yep, foreign packages are still going through.. at least via Manila.

To the original topic:

USPS is not accepting deliveries to d'Phils at the moment. Had someone try and send a letter yesterday. No go.

I'm getting so spoiled here in central Florida. I'm ordering stuff on Amazon and getting them the next day. Even on Sundays. Last thing I ordered was delivered in about 14 hours…

Last order was six group 5 Dunhill pipes. Tracking number says they hit Manila in February. Who the feck knows, it's like a mystery world.
