it will still have typhoon strength after it has weakened,  it that so difficult  ?????

It is poorly worded. It is difficult to explain a lighthearted grammatical issue to you.

Just got my power back. Not much damage around here. Some blown down banana-trees only.

Feeling pretty lucky considering how close it went by.

Not so bad in Masbate City (where I’m posting from right now) but out in the country we only just got our power back last night. Globe, our only option at the house, continues to struggle to get its network back up.
As someone else said, the bananas took a real hit as this storm went through.

It is going to weaken AND maintain its typhoon strength. That's exactly what it says. I don't know how you can argue against that.

Think what they mean is it will maintain it's category 3 or 4 typhoon status but weaken within that band - my wife (and my kid's teacher) talk and write like that too...

e.g. A few days ago we get this:

Holiday class tomorrow please bring your afternoon books only.

Later translated to mean:

Finish at lunch time tomorrow bring your afternoon books for the morning session :D

At least now I know why my wife cannot speak properly.
