Now a tropical depression, 29w. This should be a named storm pretty soon though.   Might re-curve away from the archipelago... Or keep on a westerly track and impact d'Phils

Just got my power back. Not much damage around here. Some blown down banana-trees only. Feeling pretty lucky considering how close it went by.

Or keep on a westerly track and impact d'Phils (and the SEA Games). Some models showing a 930 mb landfall around Sorsogon.

Not cold at all.

The official T Town temp noted on highly precise/accurate 50 PHP Chinese thermometer located in the carport is 28C. LOL

Windows are all open, rain stopped a couple of hours ago,and the AC hasn't been on all day.

Bit of zig-zagging expected the next few days as the steering conditions change....

...but currently expected to be a Cat 4 typhoon as it enters the PAR Sunday-ish.

Notably, the blob of convection just to the east of Kammuri has just been designated a tropical depression (96W). Waiting to see how that develops.

The last time they predicted an abrupt turn like that the storm continued on unaware for quite a few degrees farther north before turning.

Looks pretty bad on Windy. I don't know which track they use or if they make their own but they have it slamming into Luzon north of Legaspi and running over Manila.

On Windy, look at the bottom right part of the screen. You can toggle between ECMWF (aka 'the Euro') and (USA-based) GFS.

ECMWF is the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts,

The Global Forecast System (GFS) is a weather forecast model produced by the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP).
