How to use Skype

Recommended Posts

Kreole

I just now downloaded Skype and am unable to enter a number in the contact registration.   I am currently in the Philippines.  The number is in the US and is a toll free landline: (877) 346-2756.  However when I type that in I get a notice that says I am not using the Skype format, but they give NO example.  Exactly what is the Skype format for entering a toll-free landline number in the US?  Thanks ahead for your help

does this help ??

Yes, use the dial pad to enter toll free numbers on Skype. The following countries and number ranges are supported and are free of charge to all users:

France: +33 800, +33 805, +33 809
Poland: +48 800
UK: +44 500, +44 800, +44 808
USA: +1 800, +1 866, +1 877, +1 888
Taiwan: +886 80

could it be that you did not enter country code ??

Here is a screen shot.  It still says I have entered an invalid number.  by the way, I am using a Macskype.thumb.jpeg.a9d9be6e5ca55fbeb2a258c95e782c30.jpeg

There should be a drop down menu where you select the country...

What exactly did you do to fix it?  My dad is always finding a way to mess up his skype, so any exact fixes to potential future problems is appreciated.

Shadow and kreole:  you've made some phone numbers public-- sure you want to do that?
