Get Ready Tuburan !! Mum's Coming

Recommended Posts

to_dave007

It's final..  My mum's coming for a visit to Tuburan.  Tickets are purchased.  She's 86.

I'll head back to Canada for a week at beginning of November then escort her back to Tuburan..  via Hong Kong.  On the way back I'll escort her to the gate in Hong Kong and my brother will pick her from airport in Toronto.  All flights are planned mid week to stay away from the turmoil in Hong Kong.  BTW..  Good prices at Cathay Pacific just now and further seat sale looming.

She'd come sooner..  but she is booked to Mexico first.  lol..  How's that for a sense of adventure?

My wife, and my sons, and the rest of the crew here looking forward to meet her.

Now we must set about making it a good trip, and keeping her safe and comfortable.

Good for you Dave!

Get good medical insurance for her. My mother’s travels stopped at 80 after she broke her leg in a fall. We had a lot of trouble getting her insurers to pay up and it became very difficult to get her insurance at a reasonable rate thereafter.

(BTW - in 2007/8 the cost of a broken leg in Canada was CAD$20,000)

Funny, I had been led to believe that all healthcare was free in Canada.Perhaps not.

thanks.  My mum already bought health insurance for the Mexico trip and it will cover her for Philippines too.  She already checked.  And she always likes to travel with health insurance.

If injured in Canada..  yes..  if outside.. can be a bit problematic.  For example..  if injury is trewated poorly outside Canada, Canadian health insurance not likely to pay for correcting a botched job.
