Alicia Apartelle, Banilad

Recommended Posts

Stayed in this place last week for four nights.

Rooms: There was a little bedroom and a separate lounge area with a sofa and a TV. Also a pretty decent kitchen with a full size ref, coffee maker, rice cooker, dishes and cutlery, etc. Water jugs delivered for 90 pesos to the room for the full-size hot/cold dispenser.   Eating table with four chairs. There was a small veranda off the bedroom; we were on the 10th floor overlooking the Banilad Town Center just across the road. 36 sqm rooms plenty big enough for two people for a short stay. Bigger rooms are 56 and 90 sqm, Not many news channels on the TV and if you want more you pay for a whole month's service. Had CNN though and the Aussie channel.  In-room wifi was consistent and adequate at 3 Mbps up/down. No room service but food delivery options abound.

Breakfast: Considered this basic yet perfectly fine. Fruit, rice, vegetables,  vegetables with meat, sausages, eggs, Comfy tables and lots of artwork on the walls. Usually had breakfast alone when they started at 6 AM.

Gym: There are actually two gyms here. One is a membership club and the other is free for guests. We used the latter and always had it to ourselves. Expensive looking treadmills and bicycle machines, weights, and medicine balls and stuff. Very clean and the equipment all seemed brand new.

Pool:  Only four feet deep. Lots of lounge chairs around and pretty quiet considering it's next to the highway. Best part was the 4-seater Jacuzzi which we used daily after breakfast, a workout, and a few laps. Always had the pool area completely to ourselves.

Security: Very good. Walking in from the street you use your key card to pass through a pair of turnstiles before approaching the hotel entrance. Key card access also for the elevators, gym, and pool.

Location: you can walk to Gaisano Country mall in three minutes. Banilad Town Center was directly across the highway. Gotta play Frogger and go through traffic but easily done. Between the two malls there were a lot of restaurants and cafes within short walking distance (no taxis!).

Occupancy: They said it was only at 20 percent so the place was quiet, Evidently when the Koreans come during vacations to study at the two schools in the building it can get busy and noisy. We thankfully didn't experience that.

I'd stay here again for the room size and location. We paid 11k and change on Agoda for a four-night stay.

Thanks for the review, nice find!

Checking their website I was surprised that they are offering a 25% discount for all classes of rooms for the entire month of October!
