Haze Bulletin (17 Sep 2019)

It's been four years since we've had haze this noticeable. It's coming from the slash-and-burn agriculture in Sumatra and Borneo. Only 'bright' side of this polluting mess which causes health hazards and low-visibility for boats and flights is...we're getting some really colorful sunrises and sunsets. Even the moon was a very pronounced red last night. What effects are you guys seeing?

Updated alert expected later today but here's the first one...

HAZE BULLETIN #1 Issued at 7 PM, 17 September 2019, Tuesday

SYNOPSIS: Haze coming from the forest fire at Indonesia is currently affecting portions of Mimaropa, Visayas, and Mindanao

• Between today and tomorrow (September 18), haze is still possible to occur at Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
• PM 2.5 levels may reach 15-25 µg/m³.
• Habagat (southwest monsoon) pushed haze from Indonesia's forest fires to Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.
• Everyone is advised to wear mask when going outside due to it's ill effects like having a cough, asthma, or other health problems that can affect yourself.

Jawny

The haze has been very noticeable in western Leyte. Mostly noticeable in the mornings.  Took me years to explain the concept of morning fog to my loved ones.  "Honey, is that fog or a cloud?"

The haze sort of blends in with the trash burning.
