Wouldn't be too quick to suggest that the PI PO lost/misplaced your mail.Of course it does happen, for sure.

I've seen mail pulled out of mail processing machines in the US that were a decade overdue.

Currently 8 weeks on average from the UK and the last one was opened. The Consolacion postmaster says,, They do sit in Manila, Yeh right...

Why am I getting snail mail?, My sister is 78. I've offered to buy her a laptop /Android phone... No no no no..

I think maybe they were counting on it arriving just before Christmas 2019!

Funny thing is they are actually visiting us and we all had a good laugh when my wife brought the mail in.

Not always a funny joke..    British guy I know had significant financial issues when his replacement ATM card did not arrive from the UK through the post.   Went several months with no access to most of his money.  No idea at all why he trusted the post for something so important.

I am thankful that I have an FPO address at (a US address) RAO in Cebu City. That way, none of my important mail to or from the US has to pass through the Philpost system. We do get some statements and bills from Philippine companies through Philpost, and they are often delayed by weeks or months. We have also had mail opened by Philpost. It seems like anything that seems like there might be something of value inside gets opened. We have also have things disappear in the Philpost system.

Philippine post mark?

My problem with PhilPost is when I buy from AliExpress an item might be p100 including shipping and the post office charges me p112 to pick it up,

Back in 2007 I had Davao PNP do a background check and follow a girl around, The letter took 4 months to make it to Texas.

Why didn't you have them send the results by Facebook?

That is why I use a mailing service out of Miami. Everything is collected there, they scan every mail piece so I know what is there, and at some point it's packaged up and sent by DHL or equivalent. Quit using Fed Ex recently as they started charging customs fees for packages well under the value limits. Kinda important mail to the US is sent registered and something quite important is sent via IEMS which isn't cheap.

I always sent it from LBC to someone in the states and had them mail it. The SS address is a PO box and LBC won't (or didn't) send to them. You're probably ok but I wouldn't trust philpost for something like that, jmo.

Do they do that?  Like send you a receipt or something?  Might be best to contact the Manila SS rep.  Easier to do that now than one day the check doesn't show.

Seems to me they offer something like registered mail.  Memory fails me but I think I sent registered from the main office near Independence Plaza.  It arrived In a month so never needed to follow-up further.
