T.S. 783
This five-part docu-series goes inside the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a unique Philippine jail where dancing is part of the inmates’ exercise and rehabilitation. CPDRC shot to worldwide fame when its 2007 performance of “Thriller” went viral, but ten years later it faces intense scrutiny when an ex-convict is hired to run it. Happy Jail is directed by Emmy Award winner Michele Josue (Matt Shepard Is a Friend of Mine). https://www.netflix.com/happyjail 2
TimL 224
Wow... only in the Philippines do you have an ex-con running the jail.
T.S. 783
Available now. If you normally have English subtitles enabled on your Netflix account, disable them for this or it will just say [Speaking Filipino] during some Bisaya parts. With subtitles set to "Off" it is still subtitled and the Bisaya parts are translated to English. That is what I had to do at least.

It was interesting for me. I thought it would be more focused on the dancing, the dancing was in it, but it was a deeper story of how the guy hired by the previous governor ran the place. The inmates liked the guy and seemed happier when he was running things. Gwen Garcia (Former Governor, now current Governor again) and her brother Byron Garcia who previously ran the place were not fans of the guy.
