So, it's still useful. Also sometimes fun. I printed some brackets to hold strip lights under some shop shelving. some spacers, a couple different tool holders, some other assorted stuff. A box to store and stack a wood block game. Various jigs and brackets.

One of my next projects is to finally tackle adapting a paper shredder to fit a large rubbermaid trash basket.

Just wanted you to know I think this has been a very interesting thread. I think the prices have come down tremendously, making it more affordable for the average guy. Another part of that equation is actually finding a use for it, which you seem to have found. The last part of the equation is being able to figure out how to use the darn thing!

Do you download the files to print something, or do you actually sit down and design your own?

Both. The above followers came from Thingiverse I believe. I've also CAD'd up a few things for myself, and I've contributed a couple to Thingiverse. The most recent thing I drew up myself is a little custom wrench/tool to pull the cap of my carbine silencer for cleaning.

What are the benefits of 3D printing for the sex toy industry?

3D printing brings many advantages to the 3D printing industry. Here are the main benefits of 3D printed sex toys:

Personalization: 3D printing offers unique personalization capacities, which is a powerful advantage for sex toys.

Homemade: Sex toys can be 3D printed in the comfort of your own home. However, homemade 3D printed sex toys require some preparation to be safe for use.

A few specialized websites allow users to create custom sex toys online. Users can then download or stream the STL file to 3D print it at home using a desktop 3D printer. It is also possible to design and purchase a 3D printed dildo online. The manufacturer 3D prints the object and then ships it to the customer. Companies that offer this type of service can often produce 3D models and prints from penis pictures. Those intimate objects can be compatible with standard vibrators.

Creating 3D printed sex toys at home

Downloading and 3D printing sex toy designs

Many online platforms offer a wide choice of 3D designs for adult toys. Cults3D, for instance, offers dozens of different sex toy designs, downloadable for free or at a low price. There is a large choice of shapes, colors, and sizes available.

Eccentric 3D designs (like celebrity busts) can also be found, along with penises of the most famous porn stars. Those files can then be 3D printed on personal 3D printers. Before 3D printing a design, the most important things to check are the scale of the model and its orientation on the printing bed. Upwards is most of the time the best option.

I'm currently printing an AR-15 rifle holder thingamajig that bolts to a horizontal surface and then has a stickum-outie that is the shape of an AR magazine, such that the AR can be slid securely on the holder for compact storage. If it's decent I'll run off a couple dozen to help solve my AR storage ... issues.

  • Printed a few toys for the kid
  • CAD'd up a bracket to allow mounting some small O2 bottles to the wall
  • CAD'd up a fishing pole rack
  • ... a few other things.

Sold quite a few since the buying panic has inflated prices so much, but I have a few left. I guess I've sold something like 9 this year? Seems like that's right.
