One of our workers was clearing some of the scrub at the back of our lot..Found a young Tarsier.
I had to make them put it back and watch them do so..Those things are worth quite a bit of money!

We went to their preserve on Bohol

One really startled us  - usually very timid? - but jumped to a branch near us and reached for my glasses

No, just pretentious. I've heard women in the US try to pronounce Target in the French way, so that people would think they were sophisticated (it didn't work). However, in this case, the "documentary" is just a comedy spoof, so you should expect this sort of thing.

Actually, I did.  I was waiting for some humorous correction of the pronunciation but it never keep and since the Tarsiers aren't well known to a western audience I don't think it was intentional.

Maybe. But why would an English speaker apply a French pronunciation to an animal on an island that has nothing to do with France? I saw the entire thing as a spoof.

If they sold it they could have had 100 meals in the local Carinderia.
