I believe or read somewhere that Franklin was the oldest person to sign the Declaration of Independence at 70 years old and the youngest was Rutledge at 26 years old! One thing that is often overlooked is that all the signatories were reasonably wealthy individuals but in signing they were basically signing their own death warrants for treason.
