THE Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) will soon integrate the international passenger service charge or the terminal fee to the airfare to provide a hassle-free experience to travelers.

MCIA general manager, lawyer Steve Dicdican, in a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing with partner airlines, said the new method will take place on June 1, 2019 and onwards.

However, there will be a transition period of three months and it will end on September so by October, all airlines must already integrate it to their system.

GMR Megawide chief executive advisor, Andrew Harrison, said this would provide a seamless travel for passengers.

He said the old method is heavily-outdated in the era of digital integration.

The terminal booths will still be retained to serve those passengers who booked early and also to give time for the partner airlines to implement the integration in their system.

The terminal fee for Terminal 2 that caters to international passengers will remain at P850.

There were 25 partner airlines who joined the MOA signing, seven domestic carriers and 18 international one

For non-Phils airlines it's probably already done.  CP and PAL will probably need an extension.
